Una is a region in the Indian territory of Himachal Pradesh. Una shares its outskirt or boundary with the Hoshiarpur and Rupnagar areas of Punjab and Kangra, Hamirpur and Bilaspur region of Himachal Pradesh. The landscape is for the most part semi-sloping with low slopes. Una has been distinguished as a principle mechanical center point and has become a travel town for voyagers setting off to the city of Dharamshala or areas inside the Himalayas, for example, Kullu, Manali, Jawalamukhi, and Chintpurni. On the 1st September,1972 the Himachal Pradesh Govt. recorganised the Kangra district into three districts namely Una, Hamirpur and Kangra.The famous places of Una are ‘Chintpurni’ Goddess temple, Dera Baba Barbhag Singh, Dera Baba Rudru, Joggi Panga, Dhunsar Mahadev Temple Talmehra(Sadaa Shiv) and Shivbari Temple near gagret.
Una has five tehsils, specifically Ghanari, Haroli, Amb, Bangana and Una itself.
Una is situated at the lower regions of Himalayas.Una is historical for fortress and an ancestral home of the descendants of the first SIKH Guru Nanak Ji.
Una had been a tehsil of Hoshiarpur area until the Punjab Reorganization Act, 1966 and Kangra locale until 1972, after which it turned into a region of Himachal Pradesh.
